MAP COMING SOON
The Sheffield Food Network is a free, on-line map of sustainable food in Sheffield: food that’s locally produced, fairly sourced and independently sold.
The network shows the shops, cafes and restaurants that sell sustainable food; the farmers, breweries and makers who produce it; and the places where people can grow and harvest it for themselves.
The network will make it easier for people in Sheffield to find sustainable food, and help to connect the businesses and projects that are already providing it. And it’s totally free to be listed. Want to get involved? Then read on!
What is sustainable food?
Well, we think it is local, independent and fair.
How do I get on the map?
To get on our map, you need to be an independent business (no supermarkets here) selling or supplying food that’s Local OR Fair. You don’t have to do both, though of course it’s great if you do! 1/3 of all the produce you sell or supply has to meet our criteria, as set out on the previous page. We hope our criteria is ambitious enough to make a positive difference, and pragmatic enough to offer a realistic alternative to the supermarket.
