From Monday 12th September, between 10.00am and 12.00pm, we have a new group starting where you can get training, advice and practical skills to help you grow and harvest your own food and enjoy the outdoors with others.

It’s taking place on a Monday down at the ShipShape Health and Wellbeing Centre at The Stables, Sharrow Lane, S11 8AE. Phone: (0114) 250 0222

Fox Hill ready when you are!

The community grower”s hub at Fox Hill is going from strength to strength.  They”ve had a fantastic season working on their shared space, planting, growing and sharing the produce.  They”d love to meet new members and if you live anywhere nearby- or even if you don”t- pop down and get jameshallison casino involved.  To find out more about the Fox Hill hub or to get involved get in touch with Jenny or Ruth on [email protected]

 

Community Growers: Our Fox Hill hub.

Over in Foxhill, our community grower Jenny has been busy promoting food growing, whilst engaging with the local community at the Fox Hill Forum. Jenny hopes to develop a mixed experience in terms of gardening, encouraging both complete beginners and experienced growers to get involved.

Jenny has been using teapots as herb planters!

On Tuesdays, between 10am and 11:30am, volunteers can come along and help to sow and plant seeds, maintain the space and later help to harvest the produce (which you can take a share of!). Jenny also casino online provides information and hand-outs to help with various aspects of food growing. So, you can practise in your own space and in your own time.

Jenny has created a mixed garden, for people of all ages

So far, the group have grown potatoes, tomatoes, salad leaves, parsnips, herbs, beans and peas. They”ve even started composting at the healthy Living Centre.
