Fox Hill Community Growers Hub

Over in Foxhill, our community grower Jenny has been busy promoting food growing, whilst engaging with the local community at the Fox Hill Forum. Jenny hopes to develop a mixed experience in terms of gardening, encouraging both complete beginners and experienced growers to get involved.

Jenny has been using teapots as herb planters!

On Tuesdays, between 10am and 11:30am, volunteers can come along and help to sow and plant seeds, maintain the space and later help to harvest the produce (which you can take a share of!). Jenny also provides information and hand-outs to help with various aspects of food growing. So, you can practise in your own space and in your own time.

Jenny has created a mixed garden, for people of all ages

So far, the group have grown potatoes, tomatoes, salad leaves, parsnips, herbs, beans and peas. They’ve even started composting at the healthy Living Centre.

Want to know more?

If you want to join phone Andrew at the healthy Living Centre on 0114 231 5522 or just come along on a Tuesday morning. You can also email Jenny directly at [email protected].
