Fruit Tree planting at Common Ground
November 29, 2014 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
| FreeCome and join the regular volunteers at Common Ground communal garden in Nether Edge and learn all about fruit tree planting and care. Local expert Stephen Watts will be running a practical session showing you all you need to know to prepare the ground and plant young fruit trees. He will also give advice about caring for the trees and pruning.
The young trees have been grafted by supporters and volunteers in conjunction with the Abundance project, working to preserve local heritage fruit and ensure future abundance in the city by planting more fruit trees. They are local Sheffield varieties.
Everyone is welcome.
Common Ground is where St Peter’s church used to be on Machon Bank. For more information please email Morwenna at [email protected]
This workshop is being funded as part of the Sheffield on a Plate project.
